For twenty four years, Enugu State has witnessed unprecedented development, made possible by all the successive PDP governments. From Nsukka, the University town, to Udi, the home of the hills, to Nkanu that now hosts the Law School and the State’s University. Even the city of Enugu, that has acted as the capital of Eastern Region, to East Central State, to Old Anambra State, and now Enugu State; Enugu has been transformed tremendously. This past twenty four years has witnessed a transformation unimaginable.
From a civil service state, Enugu State has become a hub for entrepreunership and many industries that now manufacture so many products; from trucks, to cars, to industrial equipments, to all kinds of consumables now dot Enugu State. Enugu State has felt good, expanded, industrialized in the hands of successive PDP regimes. The dreams of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first Premier of Eastern Region, to Dr M.I Okpara, the Minister of Agriculture under Dr Azikiwe, who later became the Premier, Enugu has expanded beyond the expectations of the people. Enugu State has always hosted many people from all parts of Igbo, and the people are quite hospitable.
Under Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Enugu State has been tagged “Enugu State is in the Hand God”, and indeed development has been driven to unimaginable heights.
Every political leader in Enugu State today have grown from the loins of PDP since 1999. It is a fact that thousands of Youths, women, and aspirants into various political and civil service have accomplished their dreams. Dr Peter Mbah from Nkanu kingdom is a man well prepared to shoulder the next Governorship responsibilities of Enugu State.
Formerly a Chief of Staff to the former Governor, Mbah later started an Oil conglomerate, Pinnacle Oil, today thousands are employed working with this Pinnacle conglomerate. From the Government House, to the Private sector employing thousands, today Dr Peter Mbah is prepared to assume the Chief servant of Enugu State, flowing from the traditions established by the former ones; Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani, to Sullivan Chime, now to Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
The good people of Enugu State will never succumb to the excesses of political megalomanias who are trying to take the people to an unknown destination, with a man that also grew out of the loins of PDP, Mr Edoga whose wife is now facing EFCC charges for crimes the husband committed with her name.
PDP is what Enugu State knows, and the expectations of all voters is that it will continue like that.
