..As police and the Estate residents debunk propaganda as a hatchet job

The news currently trending that a household died out of pesticide poisoning at Nkwelle GRA near Onitsha has been classified as fake news and totally unfounded by eyewitnesses. When our correspondent visited Nkwelle GRA this morning, passers by, and workers at the Estate confirmed that the trending news was fake as there was no fact to it. It will be recalled that many families have been living in the Estate for the past few years, and they have lived there peacefully without any incident.
The police post DPO at the Estate also debunked the news as fake news. It will be noted that a contractor, Lalazco Construction Company Ltd, is currently starting to complete the asphalting of the roads in the Estate to make the place more esthetic for living. So work is going on in the area without any incident. Another organization, Shiled of Faith Ministries, is on the verge of constructing a school at the site, while some churches have indicated interest in building a worship center at the Estate.
It will be recalled that Construction started at the Estate in 2019 after the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano approved the former Nkwlle Agriculture Center for a Housing Esate, and entered into an agreement with Rotech Energy Services Ltd to develop the Estate as an alternative GRA because the GRA in Onitsha is filled up.
Our Correspondent who visited the site talked to Mr Ikechukwu Ononye, who resides in the GRA, and he confirmed that nothing of such happened in the GRA. Mr Ononye laughed off the rumors and assured the general public that the Nkwelle GRA is safe.
