By Tony Ezike

Just as anticipated by many who value her antecedents, the famous Senator Uche Ekwunife has secured yet another high-profile job barely two months out of office which is a confirmation of her credibility and acceptability among the masses and political leaders in the region.

Senator Ekwunife was on July 31st issued with a letter appointing her as Director General of the South East Governors Forum (SEGOF) which places her in a coordinating position amongst 5 state governors in the region.

Just like every other position she has held in the past, Iyom being the go-getter she is known for is expected to represent the southeast excellently and finish up with remarkable achievements as usual.

It may not be easy advising and coordinating the affairs of these governors, but as long as Uche Ekwunife is involved difficulty becomes an imagination of the feeble minded because she is equal to the task.

Ekwunife who will be heading the forum’s head office in Enugu State is expected to deploy her wealth of experience from the organized private sector, legislature and Nigerian politics to make her new office work in line with the clamour for good governance.

As a mother with a handful of experience in public service and community leadership, Iyom is expected to bring to the table new ideas that will foster peaceful coexistence among the people of the region through diplomatic recommendations to the governors she will be working with.

Consequently, this new assignment will put her in a position to effectively coordinate the affairs of the directorate without partisan considerations, rather it will enhance her scope of attending to regional issues with love, due diligence and utmost commitment.
