… Says that Umuriam Obunese land belongs to Nawfia, not Awka

Information reaching Citypost reveals that the ownership of a piece of land which was duly allocated to Chief Kingsley Obi (Ozo Elee Nibo) is presently being contested be Chief Jeff Nweke from Awka South Local Government Area.
Further inquiry revealed that Jeff is claiming that the land under contention actually belongs to Ezinano community in Awka; a remark which the people of Nawfia dismissed as untrue considering that they only have boundaries with Enugwu-Agidi and Amawbia communities, but none with Awka.
The family from Umuriam Obunese who sold the property in reference to Chief Kingsley Obi informed Citypost that they were the rightful owners of the land.
They also disclosed that the matter has since been reported to Anambra State Police Commissioner, Zone 13 Police Command as well as the Force Headquarters Abuja, noting that the community is ready to resist further infringement on the land through all possible constitutional means.
Some of the eye witnesses and signatories to the land documents issued to Chief Kingsley Obi are as follows:
1. Joe Nwigbo
2. Daniel Meniru
3. Obi Okafor
4. Benjamin Ogor
5. Chukwugozie Nwokakwa,
6. Nobert Ozigbo, among others.
To this end, the youths, men and women of Umuriam Obunese in Nawfia community, Njikoka council area has embarked on a peaceful protest with placards bearing different inscriptions which pointed out their dissatisfaction with the development.
Consequently, Umuriam Obunese has called on the Governor of Anambra State Prof Chukwuma Soludo, the Police Commissioner and Inspector General of Police to intervene in their ancestral land being trespassed by an indigene of Awka community Chief Jeff Nweke so as to avoid the palpable bloodshed over the ownership contest.
The villagers who took turns to speak about the matter on camera stated that they were being threatened by armed men suspected to be security agents from the BLUE SHIELD security agency, while urging the state government and all security agencies to hold Chief Jeff Nweke responsible should human life be lost over the land dispute.
