The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area Hon ThankGod Anago has revealed plans to put an end to insecurity and boost economic activities within the council area ~ Citypost Reports.
Hon Anago made this known during the official reception of surveillance equipments donated by an illustrious son of the community Chief Engr Fidelis Nweke (Ide Ugbene).
Apparently, the appointment of Hon ThankGod Anago as the Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North LGA has began to open up the council area for improved socioeconomic and security interventions.
One of the recent inroads made by the TC Chairman Hon ThankGod Anago in the security sector was the successful conversation with Chief Engr Fidelis Nweke which led to the donation of surveillance equipments to the community vigilante operatives.
Hon Anago expressed delight over the timely intervention of Ide Ugbene in donating surveillance motorbikes and other security equipments needed to combat crimes and criminality within the council area. He however promised to utilize the equipments judiciously, while charging the Awka North Vigilante operatives to ensure adequate deployment of the equipments in carrying out their official obligations.
Speaking further Hon Anago stated;
“In line with my resolve to restructure the security architecture of Awka North LGA through community policing commonly known as Vigilante Services, I received and handed over security gadgets and motorcycles donated by Chief. Engr. Fidelis Nweke (Ide Ugbene) to improve security in Ugbene Community.
“While commending Chief. Engr. Fidelis Nweke for his benevolence and support, I charged the security men to ensure that Ugbene and by extension Awka North LGA becomes safe as we collaborate and support our Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s CFR, efforts in tackling insecurity and ensuring peace in Anambra State.
“The Traditional Ruler of Ugbene Community, HRH Igwe Sampson Chimaka who was at the event was full of commendation for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for his giant strides in infrastructural development in many parts of Awka North as well as his efforts in securing the State.
“I am assuring that security of lives and properties shall always top my agenda for Ndi Awka North LGA as efforts are being galvanized to upgrade and improve on the security architecture in Awka North LGA.
The Council Boss promised to continue engaging critical stakeholders in view of bringing out the best of the agrarian community in terms of safety and sectoral development.
