The United Igbo Elders Council (UNIEC) Worldwide has been unveiled as a transformative movement dedicated to preserving and advancing Igbo identity, culture, and unity. As an offshoot of the Alaigbo Achievers Legacy, UNIEC represents elder statesmen, major stakeholders, and opinion leaders within Nigeria and the diaspora.
Mission and Vision:
UNIEC is a non-partisan and non-sectarian socio-cultural organization headquartered in Igboland, with a global reach. The council aims to promote Igbo heritage, language, and values while advocating for the regeneration of the Think-Home Investment Philosophy.
Vision: To lawfully advance Igbo interests in Nigeria and beyond.
Mission: To mobilize and conscientize the Igbo nation and other like-minded groups toward unity, security, and sustainable development.
Key Objectives:
Unity: Strengthen bonds among Igbo communities worldwide, including those with Igbo ancestry in Africa, the Americas, and Europe.
Security: Safeguard Igboland and its people in accordance with the law.
Cultural Renaissance: Revive Igbo traditions, including ancient scripts, music, medicine, and metallurgy.
Industrialization: Promote Igbo-led industrial development and create a thriving business environment.
Youth Empowerment: Prepare Igbo youth, women, and other groups for future challenges.
Dispute Resolution: Serve as an impartial mediator for conflicts within Igbo society.
Rights Advocacy: Protect Igbo rights and encourage adherence to the laws of host communities.
Membership:
Membership is open to individuals of integrity, including former governors, lawmakers, judges, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and progressive professionals. Members are selected based on community perception and verified through independent research to uphold the council’s credibility.

UNIEC operates under a robust constitution that guides its activities and ensures accountability. Prospective members receive a copy upon applying for membership.
