The Anambra State Government has awarded contracts worth over ₦9 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of federal roads in the state.
Additionally, contracts were awarded for the provision of facilities at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, in Anambra East Local Government Area, and the College of Health Technology, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area.
According to the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, in a post-Executive Council meeting release, some of these projects have already commenced, while others are set to begin soon as part of preparations for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“The Council considered and approved contracts for key projects that will expand and deepen the Solution Government’s infrastructure revolution,” Dr. Mefor stated.
“Some of the road contracts are for the rehabilitation of federal roads in deplorable condition. Many of these roads have already been rehabilitated and beautified as part of the grand preparations for a memorable Christmas celebration.”
Among the approved projects are:
₦214,006,328.51 for the rehabilitation of Eze Uzu Junction, Agu-Awka, and the front of the ANSIEC Office to Arroma Junction along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, awarded to Muterbonch & Co. Nig Ltd.
₦1,650,000,000.00 for the completion of the asphalt wearing course on the access road to Chinua Achebe International Airport, Umueri, awarded to IDC Construction Limited.
₦577,000,000.00 for the development of 624 open stalls within the Modern Bus Terminal in Ekwulobia, awarded to Crystal Dove Construction.
₦4,450,000,000.00 for the Ekwulobia flood control project Phase II, including bio-remediation maintenance, awarded to AG Vision Construction Nig Ltd.
₦327,829,570.72 for the rehabilitation of the Amawbia Flyover to Arroma Junction along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, awarded to New Idea Construction Company Ltd.
₦93,107,362.50 for the provision of free internet access at Nwafor Orizu College of Education (first year), awarded to Swifttalk Ltd.
₦85,517,325.00 for the provision of free internet access at the College of Health Technology, Obosi (first year), awarded to Croz Enterprises.
₦467,269,015.00 for the supply and installation of outdoor furniture at the Solution Fun City, Awka, awarded to Pudsey Limited.
₦128,000,000.00 for the construction of a gatehouse, perimeter fence, and earthworks at Ekwulobia Modern Bus Terminal, awarded to Crystal Dove Construction Company Ltd.
₦234,811,927.50 for the installation of security equipment and features in newly acquired security vehicles, awarded to Newsbreak International Communication Ltd.
An additional ₦52,983,847.00 was approved, bringing the total cost to ₦146,000,000.00, for the completion of Judges’ Quarters for the Anambra State Judiciary in Onitsha, awarded to Tivoge Properties Ltd.
These projects highlight the Solution Government’s commitment to driving infrastructure development and improving public services in Anambra State.
