The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has reaffirmed its commitment to good governance and strategic political expansion during a high-level retreat held in Awka on February 15, 2025. The event, convened to strengthen party structures and mobilize support ahead of the 2025 gubernatorial election, brought together party mayors, stakeholders, and grassroots leaders from wards and LGAs.

In his remarks, the APGA National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, emphasized the importance of ideological clarity and unwavering commitment to the party’s progressive principles. He urged members to recognize themselves as ambassadors of APGA in their various capacities and to uphold the party’s legacy of people-oriented governance.

“Today’s strategic meeting is about deepening commitment among party members and reinforcing the APGA mantra of progressive leadership. Our goal is to sustain a formidable campaign structure that will elevate the party beyond political seasons,” Ezeokenwa stated.

Highlighting the exceptional performance of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the APGA National Chairman noted that Anambra State remains a benchmark for good governance in Nigeria today. He commended the governor’s transformational strides in healthcare, road infrastructure, education, and economic development, asserting that Soludo has delivered landmark achievements that set APGA apart.

“If you examine the yardstick for measuring governance in Nigeria today, Governor Soludo stands out as the best in terms of performance. His leadership continues to win accolades across multiple sectors, proving that APGA is synonymous with excellence,” Ezeokenwa added.

The retreat also explored APGA’s strategic expansion beyond Anambra State. Ezeokenwa outlined plans to leverage the Solution Kindred initiative to promote Governor Soludo’s vision across the country, starting with strengthening the party’s influence in the South-East and key Northern states.

“For over 18 years, APGA has been a symbol of progressive governance in Anambra. Now, we are focused on expanding our reach through strategic partnerships that will extend our impact beyond the state,” he explained.

Earlier, the convener of the retreat and APGA State Chairman, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, stressed the importance of consolidating party structures and building alliances across Nigeria. He called on party stakeholders to mobilize grassroots support for Governor Soludo, reminding them that APGA’s political strength lies in its ability to retain and expand its governance footprint.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Paschal Agbodike, member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency, described APGA as a party built on truth and dedicated to delivering good governance. He confidently declared that Anambra remains an APGA stronghold, expressing optimism that future elections would see overwhelming victories for the party.

“We are not just confident of winning; we know that APGA will continue to secure victory with a margin exceeding 90%. Governor Soludo has set a new standard in governance, and the people of Anambra can see the dividends of democracy first-hand,” Agbodike stated.

The retreat concluded with a renewed commitment by APGA leaders and members to strengthen grassroots mobilization, uphold the party’s progressive ideals, and extend its influence beyond Anambra State.
