The Anambra Central People’s Forum, a registered Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization championing the revival and preservation of the Igbo Mother Tongue, has lauded celebrated Anambra philanthropist and multiple award-winning business mogul, Chief Cyril Bobisco Okoye, KSJI (Akurienne Ezeani Adazie of Adazi-Ani and Akurienne of Anaocha LGA). The group described him as an enigma in the traditional circle, embodying candor and humility worthy of emulation. They further noted that he is a philanthropist of immense value, divinely used to accomplish great feats.
In a press release made available to journalists in Awka and signed by its Chairman, Achebe Chris, Esq., the group stated:
“With a generous spirit and a profound understanding of the power of Igbo language education, Chief Sir Cyril Bobisco Okoye (Akurienne Anaocha) has graciously accepted to offer philanthropic support to the 4th edition of the Year 2025 Prof. Pita Ejiofor Annual Igbo Essay Competition for Secondary School Students in Anambra State.
“Hailing from a proud Igbo heritage in Adazi-Ani, Anambra State, Chief Okoye’s journey is a testament to the relentless spirit and determination that define our culture.
From his roots in a traditional Igbo household to his impressive career as a successful entrepreneur striving to help drive Africa forward, Akurienne Anaocha, as he is fondly called, has continually demonstrated excellence and resilience. Notably, he was recently conferred with the prestigious Sun Newspaper Industrialist of the Year Award, reflecting his successful entrepreneurial journey, remarkable ascent in the business world, and contributions to Nigeria’s manufacturing industry.

On his part, one of the patrons of the Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization, former Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and Founder of Otu Suwakwa Igbo (Nig.) Initiative, Prof. Pita Ejiofor, commended Chief Cyril Bobisco Okoye (Akurienne Anaocha) for his uncommon benevolence towards Igbo language education. He emphasized that such efforts would help students develop a deeper connection to their cultural roots, ensuring the sustained growth of the Igbo race.
