The Director-General of the South-East Governors’ Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, has extended warm felicitations to Nigerian mothers in both the Catholic and Anglican communities on the occasion of Mothering Sunday, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to family, faith, and society.
In a goodwill message, Senator Ekwunife described mothers as the pillars of every home and the moral compass that guides society. She emphasized their unwavering devotion to family and community development, noting that their sacrifices and resilience remain the foundation upon which the nation thrives. She lauded their critical roles in shaping the future of children, strengthening faith institutions, and contributing to public service.
The widely celebrated lawmaker particularly commended Christian mothers for their dedication to fostering faith, upholding strong family values, and promoting the spiritual and moral growth of society. She highlighted their commitment to peace, unity, and nation-building, stressing that their ceaseless prayers, mentorship, and charitable works serve as a beacon of hope for a better Nigeria.
However, she urged all mothers to prioritize their families, especially their husbands, and to continually pray for leaders, seeking God’s grace upon Nigeria.
Senator Ekwunife expressed profound gratitude to all mothers and prayed for God’s continued blessings, strength, and protection upon them. She wished them renewed joy, fulfillment, and divine favour as they celebrate this special occasion of Mothering Sunday.
