Hon. Peter Udeogalanya Aniekwe, the Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, has expressed deep sorrow over the gruesome killing of Barr. Ifeanyi Iloakasia, popularly known as “Rolex,” who until his death was the President General of Aguleri community in Anambra East Local Government Area.
In a heartfelt statement issued on Friday, Hon. Aniekwe described the late Iloakasia as a fearless, energetic, and tireless leader who served his people with uncommon dedication. He hailed the slain community leader as a visionary, bridge builder, and peacemaker whose impact was felt across Aguleri and the larger Omambala region.
“Barr. Iloakasia was a principled and passionate leader who never shied away from his responsibilities. His legacy of strong, indefatigable leadership will forever be remembered in Aguleri and beyond,” Aniekwe stated.
The lawmaker, on behalf of his family and constituents, extended his condolences to the Iloakasia family, the Aguleri community, and the people of the Omambala region. He also called on the Anambra State Police Command and other security agencies to urgently investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“This ungodly act must not go unpunished. I urge the authorities to do everything within their power to ensure those behind this heinous crime face the full wrath of the law,” he said.
Hon. Aniekwe further urged the bereaved family and community to take heart and find strength during this painful period, describing Iloakasia’s death as a tragic loss of a great son, brother, and compatriot.
“May his courageous and gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Rest in peace, Barrister Ifeanyi ‘Rolex’ Iloakasia,” he concluded.
