Democracy Day: Amamgbo Salutes Nigerians, Demands Inclusion of Anambra South in Senatorial Representation

As Nigeria marks 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance, frontline Labour Party Senatorial Aspirant, Barr. Donald Chidi Amamgbo, has extended warm felicitations to Nigerians, while expressing deep concern over the prolonged lack of representation in certain federal constituencies, especially Anambra South Senatorial District.

In his Democracy Day message, Amamgbo, a respected legal practitioner and international business magnate, emphasized that true democracy cannot thrive where representation is denied, stressing the urgent need to address all pending senatorial and House of Representatives by-elections across the country.

“It is both legally and morally unacceptable that any constituency in Nigeria, especially one as strategic and vibrant as Anambra South should remain unrepresented in the National Assembly. Such a void undermines not only the spirit of our democracy but the delivery of critical dividends of governance,” Amamgbo stated.

Referencing the 2025 Democracy Day theme, “26 Years of Democracy: Renewing Our Commitment to National Development,” Amamgbo urged the relevant electoral and legislative institutions to prioritize inclusivity and uphold constitutional mandates.

“No part of Nigeria deserves to be left behind,” he noted. “Democracy thrives when every voice is heard, every community is represented, and every citizen is given a stake in the national conversation. The prolonged absence of elected lawmakers from certain constituencies runs contrary to the very ideals we celebrate today.”

Speaking on his vision for Anambra South, Amamgbo declared:
“My vision is to build a forward-looking Anambra South; a region where our vast human and material resources are channeled into sustainable development.”

“I will work to attract investments, create job opportunities, improve infrastructure, and ensure quality representation that speaks for the needs and aspirations of every community. Our people deserve a seat at the table, and I am committed to restoring that voice with integrity and purpose.”

He concluded by reaffirming his unflinching commitment to the people of Anambra South, assuring them that he remains dedicated to pursuing an inclusive and people-driven legislative agenda that will restore the district’s voice and influence in Nigeria’s democratic process.
