Anambra APC Deputy Governorship Candidate Senator Uche Ekwunife has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra Central Senatorial District to treat the upcoming election as a mandate to deliver a more prosperous Anambra State. She made this call during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday, at Uche Ekwunife Event Center, Awka.
The well-attended meeting commenced with an opening prayer led by Rev. Fr. Paulinus Okonkwo and was graced by key party leaders and dignitaries across the zone.

During deliberations, Hon. Obinna Okpala emphasized the importance of creating an enabling platform for proper grassroots mobilization. Similarly, Hon. Evang. KG Enemuo stressed the need for competent coordinators across the 11 federal constituencies in the state, to ensure effective planning ahead of the 2025 elections.
In his remarks, Chief Augustine Azubike Muomife hailed Senator Ekwunife’s involvement in the APC as divinely ordained, noting the influx of new members from various political backgrounds. He urged members to unite and avoid multiple group affiliations, regarding support group multiple membership that could weaken internal cohesion.
Addressing the gathering, the State APC Chairman reaffirmed the party’s supremacy, stressing that electoral victory is non-negotiable. He lauded Senator Ekwunife for accepting to run as Deputy Governor alongside Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu and expressed confidence in her leadership abilities. He further announced that the party’s official campaign flag-off would take place Tuesday in Ayamelum Local Government Area.
“Anambra can no longer afford to stand alone. The only people who can drive the needed transformation are Ukachukwu and Ekwunife,” he asserted.
In her address, Senator Ekwunife underscored the strategic importance of the meeting. “This gathering is about the 2025 governorship election. I am not just here for myself; I represent all of you,” she said.
She emphasized that political parties are platforms, not ethnic enclaves, stating, “No party belongs to the Igbo, Hausa, or Yoruba alone. APC remains the most viable platform for rebuilding Anambra’s economy, security architecture, and governance.”
Ekwunife assured the people of Anambra Central that Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu is poised to address key sectors including education, youth and women empowerment, and infrastructure. She concluded by expressing deep gratitude to the party leadership and faithful for their unwavering support.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Hon. Mrs. Obiamaka Enechukwu, while the closing prayer was led by the State Women Leader, Chief Mrs. Maria Ejielo.
