…As Ekwunife, Anaocha Stakeholders reaffirm support for APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the upcoming Anambra election, Dr. Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has pledged to restore the dignity, relevance, and independence of traditional institutions across the state if elected.
Speaking during a well-attended campaign rally in Nneni, Anaocha Local Government Area, Ukachukwu emphasized that traditional rulers remain vital custodians of culture and values, yet have faced increasing neglect and disrespect in recent times.
“I will strengthen the traditional institution and give them a voice. I will provide a conducive environment for sustainable traditional practices in Anambra, and empower our traditional leaders to make decisions that affect them and their communities,” Ukachukwu declared.
He also condemned the activities of unauthorized task forces operating in various parts of the state, accusing them of extortion, harassment, and property destruction. “Those illegal groups will be shown the gate. We will replace them with trained, disciplined security personnel committed to protecting lives and property, not abusing citizens,” he added.
Reiterating his commitment to inclusive governance, Ukachukwu said, “It is time to move beyond this vicious cycle. We must join the coalition of connected states benefiting from meaningful development. I will bring governance closer to the people and bridge the divide between the privileged and the underprivileged.”
In her remarks, APC deputy governorship candidate Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, who hails from Anaocha, received the campaign team alongside her supporters and local leaders. She welcomed and honoured the APC governorship candidate Prince Dr Nicholas Ukachukwu with a symbolic gift of a live cow and ram, presented by Chief Edwin Ubboh, Chairman of her campaign organization.
Senator Ekwunife commended Anaocha constituents for their massive support during the APC primaries, reminding them of her long-standing contributions to the local communities.
“I have built houses and severally empowered people, built roads, markets, boreholes, medical centres, and school blocks; installed solar lights; offered scholarships and executed empowerment programs. Every community in Anaocha has felt my impact,” Ekwunife stated.
She urged voters to back candidates who have consistently served the people, even outside the election season. “The person who has been doing great things long before politics will surely do even more when given the mandate,” she said.
Adding his voice, Hon. Engr. Charles Ezeani expressed gratitude to the APC governorship team for selecting an Anaocha daughter as deputy. “We are most honoured. Our support for this ticket is total and unwavering,” he affirmed.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of 21 Sienna and shuttle buses to the APC campaign team by a prominent support group, Wind Connect, further boosting the party’s mobilization efforts ahead of the November 8 election.
