Obienyem Denounces Forged Article Targeting Senator Uche Ekwunife

By Tony Ezike

Valentine Obienyem, Media Adviser to former Anambra State Governor, His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, has strongly disassociated himself from an article being circulated in his name, which disparages Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, PhD.

In a statement on Saturday, Obienyem described the publication as “a concoction conceived by idle hands and circulated by those who thrive in mischief to malign her character.” He emphasized that this was the third time he was publicly distancing himself from such a forged piece.

Highlighting Ekwunife’s professional and political journey, Obienyem recalled her rise in the banking sector to the position of Area Manager before venturing into politics, where she has since distinguished herself in various capacities.

He noted that as a former member of the House of Representatives, a two-term Senator, and Director-General of the South-East Governors’ Forum, Ekwunife has consistently displayed courage, competence, and resilience in Nigeria’s male-dominated political landscape.

“Her political journey is one of courage, consistency, and outstanding capacity. She remains a shining example of what women can achieve in public life when given the opportunity,” Obienyem said.

He described attempts to link his name with a “baseless write-up” as malicious and cowardly, accusing certain individuals masquerading as media aides to the present administration in Anambra State of engaging in indecent practices rather than constructive engagement.

Reaffirming his respect for Senator Ekwunife despite political differences, Obienyem stressed that her record of achievements continues to speak louder than the “empty noise of her detractors.”
