Anambra 2025: Ekwunife Commences Community Engagements, Pledges to Advance Her Record of Service

The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, has commenced a statewide tour of communities ahead of the November 8th gubernatorial election.

Speaking during the visit, Senator Ekwunife reaffirmed the commitment of the APC Governorship Candidate, Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, and herself to repositioning Anambra State for sustainable development.

“Our message to Ndi Anambra is simple,” she stated. “Prince Ukachukwu and I have carefully studied the challenges facing our state and worked out practical strategies to address them. We are more equipped than other candidates in providing real solutions to Anambra’s multifaceted challenges.”

Ekwunife expressed deep concern over the rising insecurity in the state, assuring citizens that the APC team has comprehensive plans to strengthen federal security agencies and reinforce local policing structures through proper recruitment, training, and equipping of neighborhood watch groups for rapid response.

Citing her record of service as a banker andlawmaker, Ekwunife promised to replicate her development-driven approach across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State, in line with the lofty vision of Prince Dr Nicholas Ukachukwu.

“Every local government area will become an industrial hub,” she said. “Our manifesto is rich with achievable programs that will engage us productively from our first day in office.”

She further disclosed plans for youth and women empowerment through capacity-building workshops and post-training sponsorships, adding that students will benefit from scholarships in addition to the free primary and secondary education program already announced by Prince Ukachukwu.

Ekwunife also stressed the importance of local government autonomy, noting that the internally generated revenues and federal allocations available to local councils are sufficient to drive grassroots development if properly managed.

“With effective local governance,” she added, “each of the 179 communities in Anambra can gradually be transformed into thriving mini-cities.”

Encouraging voters to place their trust in the APC team, Ekwunife reminded them of her longstanding commitment to service. “I began my philanthropic journey in 2001, six years before I joined politics. Community development has always been my passion. We can only do better, knowing that to whom much is given, much is expected.”

The first class lawmaker concluded by outlining key sectors the Ukachukwu / Ekwunife administration would prioritize; including healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, education, and security, as part of their comprehensive plan to rebuild and advance Anambra State.

Responding, the elated community members reaffirmed their confidence in the Ikukuoma/Iyom joint ticket, noting that the landmark achievements of the APC candidates are evident across Anambra communities. They assured the team of overwhelming grassroots mobilisation, massive voter turnout, and unalloyed support for the success of the incoming administration.
