….Vows to harness Omasi gas for 24-hour power supply and infrastructure renewal

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the November 8, 2025 Anambra State election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has unveiled an ambitious development plan targeted at transforming the Anambra North Senatorial Zone, with particular focus on Ayamelum Local Government Area.
Addressing enthusiastic crowds at Omo and Anaku communities on Friday, Ukachukwu assured residents that the era of rhetoric on development and insecurity would end once he assumes office.
He pledged to prioritize security, agricultural revolution, and reliable electricity supply through the activation of the Omasi Power Plant, which he said would provide uninterrupted 24-hour power to surrounding communities.
The APC flagbearer also announced plans to establish a university in the zone and offer scholarships to deserving students as part of his human capital development drive.
Decrying the poor condition of roads in the area, Ukachukwu promised to construct durable, motorable roads and create employment opportunities for youths through the establishment of an industrial park. He further vowed to secure farmlands from herdsmen attacks and create a livable environment conducive for business and community growth.
Key stakeholders from the area, including Chief Ikechukwu Maduka Nebuife, APC stalwart; John Anigbogu Icheke, former Deputy Chairman of Ayamelum; and Eziagulu Offodile, former SDP Chairman who defected to the APC at the event, expressed confidence in Ukachukwu’s leadership.
They described him as a leader with integrity who delivers on promises, urging residents to rally behind him in the upcoming election.
“We are no longer comfortable with the APGA-led government. They have abandoned us with empty promises. We have no roads, no jobs. But we believe in Ikukuoma (Ukachukwu) because he is a man of his word. It’s time for a new era of true development,”
one of the stakeholders stated.
The rally, which drew massive crowds from across Ayamelum and beyond, was described by observers as one of the most energetic campaign outings yet, signaling growing grassroots support for Prince Ukachukwu’s gubernatorial bid.
