Sends Christmas Greetings to Umuoji Community and Anambra Citizens

A prominent Anambra State indigene and former governorship aspirant, H.E. Chief Dr. Ike Oligbo, has expressed concern over the welfare of citizens amid the impending implementation of a new tax regime, calling for a more humane and income-sensitive taxation system.
In a statement released on Thursday in Awka by his Media Aide, Comrade Arinze Nweje, Oligbo said taxation should only apply to individuals whose income is legitimately taxable, warning that excessive or indiscriminate taxes would further burden already struggling citizens.
In his Christmas message to the people of Umuoji community, Anambra State, as well as friends and loved ones, he urged governments at all levels to demonstrate accountability by ensuring the mandatory execution of visible and impactful projects that justify funds generated through taxation, particularly in critical infrastructure.
Oligbo emphasized that good governance must prioritize the welfare of the people, especially during challenging economic times, expressing hope that the Christmas season would inspire compassion, responsible leadership, and policies that promote inclusive development.
He concluded by wishing the people of Umuoji, Anambra State citizens, and Nigerians at large a peaceful Christmas celebration and renewed hope for a more equitable and prosperous society.
