Barrister Donald Amamgbo has paid glowing tribute to the gallant men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces as the nation marked the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day.
In a statement issued on the occasion, Amamgbo honoured both serving and retired military personnel for their courage, discipline, and unwavering patriotism in the defence of Nigeria’s unity and territorial integrity.
He also remembered with deep gratitude the fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, describing their sacrifices as enduring symbols of selflessness and national service that will forever remain etched in Nigeria’s collective conscience.
While saluting veterans and active personnel whose sacrifices often go unnoticed, the legal practitioner and public affairs commentator urged the nation to go beyond ceremonial honours by prioritising improved welfare packages and adequate care for military families.
According to him, sustained commitment to justice, peace, and national security remains the most fitting way to honour the sacrifices of Nigeria’s Armed Forces.
Barr. Amamgbo expressed hope that the courage and dedication of the Armed Forces would continue to inspire Nigerians to work together towards a safer, stronger, and more united country.
