Renowned Nigerian human rights lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has been nominated for the prestigious Law Personality of the Year 2026 award in recognition of his contributions to the legal profession and the advancement of justice in Nigeria.

Ejiofor, who serves as lead counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), will be honoured at the Eminent Man of the Year Awards & Fashion Show 2026, scheduled to hold on June 28 in Lagos State.

According to the organisers, the nomination recognises Ejiofor’s distinguished performance at the Bar, professional integrity, and his sustained efforts in promoting justice, the rule of law, and the growth of legal practice in Nigeria.

In a statement released on Wednesday and titled “Midweek Musing: Nomination, Law Personality of the Year 2026,” Ejiofor described the nomination as a humbling recognition of his commitment to defending the rule of law and championing justice.

“As clearly indicated in their official letter of nomination, this honour is conferred in recognition of my distinction at the Bar, unwavering professional integrity, and notable contributions to the advancement of justice, the rule of law, and the growth of legal practice in Nigeria,” he stated.

The legal practitioner noted that the nomination is both inspiring and a renewed call to greater service, pledging to remain committed to the ideals that define the legal profession.

Ejiofor, who also holds the traditional title Dunu-Ezeugosinachi, expressed deep gratitude to his supporters, colleagues, and admirers for their encouragement and goodwill.

“It is with a heart profoundly filled with gratitude and quiet joy that I respectfully notify my friends, admirers, Ezigbo Umuchineke, colleagues at the Bar, and my esteemed supporters of yet another humbling recognition,” he said.

He added that preparations are already underway for the award ceremony and invited friends, associates, and well-wishers to prepare for the event.

“June will soon be upon us, and preparations have already commenced. I therefore invite friends, associates, and well-wishers to begin getting ready, as all roads shall lead to Lagos on that special day for what promises to be a memorable and celebratory occasion,” he added.

Ejiofor further attributed the recognition to the grace of God and the support of those who have continued to stand by him throughout his professional journey.

“I remain profoundly grateful to you all for your continued support as we prepare to storm Lagos in grand style. Kindly take this as sufficient notice. We continue to move forward,” he concluded.
