She extended her heartfelt condolences to Nwosu’s family, the people of Ajali community in Orumba North LGA, the government of Anambra State, the entire South-East region, and the nation at large, describing him as a true icon.
Nwosu’s contributions to the growth of democracy, especially during the June 12, 1993 presidential election, remain a critical part of Nigeria’s political development. Senator Ekwunife praised his selfless dedication to Nigeria’s democratic process, which continues to inspire.
As the chairman of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), Professor Nwosu oversaw the June 12 election, widely regarded as Nigeria’s freest and fairest.
