Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has appointed former Commissioner for Works, Prince Kenneth Emeakayi, as the Special Adviser on Community Security.
Emeakayi previously served as Commissioner for Works and Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during the administration of the late Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Soludo highlighted the significance of community security, describing it as a top priority for his administration. He noted that crimes such as armed robbery and cultism have become increasingly common in certain areas of the state and stressed the need for decisive action to curb these issues.
Soludo expressed confidence that Emeakayi’s appointment would bolster the state’s security framework, contributing to a safer environment.
In response, Emeakayi thanked Governor Soludo and pledged to work tirelessly to make Anambra a safe haven for residents and visitors. He outlined his focus on community policing, intelligence gathering, and collaboration with security agencies to prevent crime.
Speaking on the appointment, the Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, Mr. Christian Aburime, stated that the appointment underscores the state government’s renewed commitment to addressing rising insecurity. He added, “With the support of relevant stakeholders, including the police and the State House of Assembly, Mr. Emeakayi is expected to bring his extensive experience in community development to the fight against crime.”
