The past Presidents-General of all communities in Anambra South Senatorial District have endorsed Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, the CEO of Sea Horse Lubricant Industries Ltd, for the upcoming bye-election.
The Association of Past Presidents-General (APPAS) in the zone described Chief Onunkwo as a worthy son of the area with the capacity to represent the district effectively. This decision was announced after a meeting on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Chief Onunkwo’s residence in Ihembosi, Anambra State.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Ichie Sir IG Nnubia, the Zonal Chairman, stated that they had assessed all candidates vying to replace the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and found Chief Onunkwo to be the most qualified. He highlighted Onunkwo’s record in human capital development, community service, and integrity, noting that his qualities set him apart from others.
“Based on our grassroots experience, we understand what it takes to represent Anambra South well at the Senate,” said Nnubia. “After a thorough review, none of the other candidates matches the competence, character, and track record of Chief Onunkwo.”
In his response, Chief Onunkwo expressed gratitude for the endorsement, describing it as humbling. He promised to address the challenges facing the communities in Anambra South if elected. “I decided to join this race to use a bigger platform to improve lives and bring development to our people,” he said.
Chief Onunkwo, who rose from humble beginnings in Ihembosi, Ekwusigo LGA, to become a successful entrepreneur, is well-known for his contributions to community development. He is determined to build on the legacy of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and advance the district’s progress, if he secures APGA senatorial ticket and emerge victorious.
