Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Labour, Employment and Productivity, and Member Representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Peter Udeogalanya Aniekwe (Macpee), has extended warm greetings to Nigerian workers as the nation marks the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration.
In a personally signed statement, Hon. Aniekwe described Nigerian workers as “key drivers of national development,” praising their dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment in the face of economic and structural challenges.
“Unarguably, the Nigerian workers remain one of the most dedicated, resilient and hardworking in the world. They remain a key driver of the country’s multi-facet development,” he said.
The lawmaker acknowledged the tough realities facing workers, particularly economic hardship, but commended them for remaining hopeful and committed to nation-building.
“Despite challenges, we celebrate Nigerian workers for staying positive and being partners in progress, contributing immensely to efforts aimed at taking the country to its deserved heights,” he added.
As Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Labour and Employment, Hon. Aniekwe urged labour unions and trade associations to continue engaging in constructive dialogue with the government to ensure improvements in salaries and workers’ welfare.
“We may not be where we desire, but better days are ahead of us. Soon, there shall be light at the end of the tunnel,” he assured.
