Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization, the Anambra Central People’s Forum (made up of well-meaning professionals of various callings, Traditional Leaders, Religious and Community Leaders, Academics, Youths, and Captains of industries), is set to recognize and honour Owelle Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, MFR (Ikukuoma Anambra), with a prestigious “Anambra Pillar of Development Award” for outstanding accomplishments in urban revitalization, economic investment, and infrastructure development, as well as commitment to raising people’s quality of life in Anambra State.
The high-level recognition is part of educational activities marking the grand finale of the 4th edition of the Prof. Pita Ejiofor Annual Igbo Essay Competition for Secondary School Students in Anambra State, organized annually by the prestigious Anambra Central People’s Forum, and scheduled for Friday, 20th June, 2025, at the auditorium of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, commencing at 12 noon.
In a press release made available to journalists in Awka today and signed by its Chairman, Chief Chris Achebe, Esq., the association said:
“Apparently, for any genuine group of people to roll out drums to celebrate a personality, that person must be, indeed, a leader that is worth being honoured. We share in the joy which pervades all of Anambra State and Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, in particular, on account of this worthy recognition.
“The best way to encourage champions of good governance who are passionate about making a remarkable difference is by rewarding them. It is called positive reinforcement. The prestigious Anambra Central People’s Forum shall continue rewarding patriots who have consistently left trails of concrete achievements in nation-building. Owelle Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, MFR (Ikukuoma Anambra), is a shining example. With pragmatism and a quality display of intellectual quotient, he has elaborately proffered far-reaching solutions to the teething problems that have ravaged Anambra State over the years.”
The Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization described Ukachukwu as an accomplished Igbophile with a heart of gold who treasures Igbo culture and tradition, and is unwavering and uncompromising in his commitment to the advancement of Igbo heritage and identity. They added that he possesses a deep understanding of Igbo interests and values.
Also speaking, one of the key stakeholders and pillars of the Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization and erstwhile President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Anambra State chapter, Prof. (Engr.) Philip Nwabueze Atanmo, said the esteemed awardee, Ukachukwu, eminently deserves the recognition and honour done him because of his towering achievements and outstanding contributions to the people of Anambra State and Nigeria in general.
He further extolled the honouree, Ukachukwu, describing him as one of Anambra South Senatorial Zone’s biggest gifts to Anambra State, who has meritoriously rendered quality service to his people. He prayed God to continue to uphold and prosper him in good health as he continues to positively impact his people.
Concluding, the Spiritual Director of the Forum, The Most Revd. Prof. Godwin Okpala (JP, OON), Emeritus Archbishop of the Niger Province and Bishop of Nnewi Anglican Communion, who hails from Anaocha Local Government Area, described Owelle Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma Anambra) as an avid lover of tradition, notable philanthropist, humanist, and visionary leader whose remarkable contributions to the business world and the betterment of society have earned him widespread admiration.
Meanwhile, the grand finale of the Prof. Pita Ejiofor Annual Igbo Essay Competition for Secondary School Students in Anambra State is organized annually to specifically showcase the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the legendary race of Igbo descent. Many prominent Igbo sons and daughters, Traditional Rulers, Religious and Community Leaders, Educational Authorities, Students, Youth bodies, and Women Groups are expected to grace the great educational event.
