The camp of Senator Uche Ekwunife, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, has responded strongly to recent allegations questioning her academic credentials, dismissing them as false, malicious, and politically motivated.

In a statement released by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Tony Ezike, the allegations were described as a “campaign of fear, not facts,” orchestrated by desperate political opponents seeking to derail Ekwunife’s growing popularity ahead of the 2025 elections.

“Senator Ekwunife earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education from the University of Calabar, followed by her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge between May 1993 and May 1994. She also holds an MBA from Nnamdi Azikiwe University (2002/2003) and a Doctorate in Public Administration from Atlantic International University (AIU), a globally recognized institution accredited by ASIC from 2019 to 2023 (Accreditation No: AS72719/0915),” Ezike stated.

The statement took a direct swipe at Governor Chukwuma Soludo, questioning his administration’s sudden interest in Senator Ekwunife’s credentials amid mounting criticisms over insecurity and unmet promises. “Why is the Soludo-led government focused on Ekwunife and not candidates of other parties?” the statement queried.

It alleged that the targeting of Senator Ekwunife is a calculated attempt to frustrate her momentum as a formidable contender in the coming election. “Her grassroots influence and proven service record have made her a major threat to the establishment. That’s why falsehoods and propaganda are now being deployed,” Ezike added.

A recent incident in Nri was cited as evidence of her soaring support. According to the release, despite alleged inducements in the form of millions of naira, road contracts, and streetlights, the people of Nri resisted the offers, stood up to thugs who attempted to destroy APC campaign materials, and staged a march to Ekwunife’s residence in solidarity.

“Senator Ekwunife is not responsible for the failures of the present administration,” the statement emphasized. “Governor Soludo should channel his energy into addressing pressing issues like rising insecurity and the lack of tangible development.”

The APC’s Ukachukwu-Ekwunife ticket, according to her camp, represents a credible alternative with vision, competence, and commitment to transforming Anambra State.

Official documents confirming the authenticity of Ekwunife’s academic qualifications were also made available to the press and are attached herein.
