….As PDP Collapses Structure for APC in Adazi Nnukwu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has recorded another major victory as the entire executive committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adazi Ward 1 formally defected to the ruling party.
The defection, which took place in Adazi Nnukwu, Anaocha Local Government Area, coincided with the visit of Senator Uche Ekwunife (CON), a frontline political figure and strong advocate of progressive governance in the state.
Announcing the decision, the former PDP ward representative, Chief Adolphus Nweke, explained that their move to the APC was motivated by the outstanding leadership qualities and integrity of the party’s candidates, particularly Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu (MFR) and Senator Uche Ekwunife (CON).
He noted that both leaders have demonstrated a clear vision, capacity, and commitment to transform Anambra State through inclusive and people-oriented governance.
Welcoming the new members, Senator Ekwunife assured them of equal participation in the party’s activities and reaffirmed her readiness to work closely with Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu to deliver his transformation agenda for Anambra.
During her address, Senator Ekwunife emphasized that an APC-led government would restore the dignity of Anambra’s traditional institutions, ensuring that traditional rulers perform their statutory and cultural responsibilities without political interference.
She revealed plans to empower traditional rulers through legislation, enabling them to focus on providing leadership and preserving cultural heritage, rather than being dragged into partisan politics.
Highlighting key aspects of the APC’s development blueprint for Anambra, Ekwunife announced that the next APC government would:
Pay civil servants a minimum wage of ₦102,000.
Sponsor 250 students abroad to acquire skills and technological expertise, annually.
Provide bursaries for students and incentives for the elderly from 65 years and above.
Review and extend the tenure of elected local government officials to four years and ensure their autonomy, to strengthen grassroots administration.
Ekwunife further promised that the APC government would deliver practical governance focused on human capital development, social welfare, and economic growth.
She urged Anambra citizens to embrace the Renewed Hope agenda by supporting the APC in the forthcoming elections, assuring them that the party would restore accountability, dignity, and progress to the state.
