Family, Friends, Uneasy as Ex-Governor Ngige Meets with EFCC Officials

Citypost News Desk

Tension has continued to rise in Anambra State following reports that former Governor and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige, appeared at the Abuja office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Earlier rumours suggested that Senator Ngige had been abducted, while other unverified claims alleged that he was missing.

However, his former Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Fred Chukwuelobe, dispelled the speculations, confirming that the former governor is indeed with the EFCC.

“The former Governor of Anambra State is with the EFCC,” Chukwuelobe stated, dismissing claims that Ngige was missing.

A visit to Ngige’s country home in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area, revealed a tense atmosphere, as residents spoke in hushed tones about the development.

Efforts to speak with members of his family were unsuccessful, as none was willing to comment on the matter as at the time of filing this report.
