Women-led grassroots mobilisation gained fresh momentum in Anambra East Local Government Area following the induction of over one hundred new members into the Anambra East Chapter of Excellent Ladies for Macpee.

According to a report released by Macpee Media Office, the colourful induction ceremony marked a strategic boost to the group’s community-level presence, as the new entrants were officially received and adorned with the movement’s uniform, signifying solidarity, discipline, and shared responsibility. The exercise formally ushered them into active participation in grassroots political organisation.

Addressing the gathering, the Anambra East Chapter Leader, Her Excellency, Mrs. Virginia Chinwuba, described the mass induction as a reflection of growing trust in the ideals and direction of Excellent Ladies for Macpee. She noted that the rising involvement of women across communities underscores their indispensable role in political awareness, mobilisation, and inclusive decision-making.

Operating as a non-partisan grassroots platform, Excellent Ladies for Macpee works closely with Hon. Peter Aniekwe (Macpee), Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, and Distinguished Senator Tony Nwoye, Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District. The synergy is aimed at strengthening democratic participation from the grassroots while advancing policies that prioritise women, families, and sustainable community development.

The group reiterated its resolve to position women as frontline actors in governance, beyond support roles, by encouraging leadership, organisation, and strategic mobilisation at all levels.

With its growing membership base, the Anambra East Chapter of Excellent Ladies for Macpee is set to play a stronger role in community engagement, people-centred advocacy, and the promotion of accountable leadership across the local government area.
