Euphoria as Umuoji Community Honours Oligbo with Prestigious Title of IKE UMUOJI

There was widespread jubilation in Umuoji community, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, as the town officially honoured one of its illustrious sons and notable political figures, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Ike Oligbo, during its Annual Assembly.

The event, which attracted community leaders, stakeholders and residents, witnessed the conferment of the highly prestigious traditional title “Ike Umuoji” on the former PDP governorship aspirant, in recognition of his contributions, philanthropy and enduring commitment to the development of Umuoji and Anambra State at large.

In his acceptance and appreciation speech, Chief Oligbo announced a donation of ₦2 million to the community, reaffirming his deep love for Umuoji. He emphasized the importance of unity, community cohesion and collective cooperation as key drivers of sustainable development.

According to a community enthusiast and journalist Chijioke Ugboguru, the title Ike Umuoji is a unique and lifetime honour exclusively reserved for Chief Oligbo, stressing that no other individual can bear the title as long as he lives.

The occasion also featured the swearing-in of the newly elected executive members of the Umuoji Improvement Union, led by Chief Sir Ifeanyi Muomenam (Chinaechendo).

Members of the community described Chief Oligbo as a resilient philanthropist and worthy ambassador of Umuoji, praying for long life, good health and continued strength for him to enjoy the full privileges of his new status and to touch more lives positively.

The ceremony ended on a high note, marked by celebrations, goodwill messages and renewed commitment to the progress and unity of Umuoji community.
