Barrister Donald Amamgbo has called on Nigerians to embrace the New Year as a fresh start and a defining opportunity to reset the nation’s priorities towards people-centred governance and sustainable development.

In his New Year message, the legal practitioner and public affairs advocate urged citizens to remain hopeful and committed to the collective task of rebuilding Nigeria, stressing that meaningful progress can only be achieved through unity, responsibility, and shared national purpose.

Barr. Amamgbo particularly tasked institutional leaders across all sectors including government, public service, and critical national institutions to rise up to their constitutional and moral responsibilities to the people.

According to him, leadership must be anchored on the welfare of citizens, justice, accountability, and policies that directly improve the quality of life of ordinary Nigerians.

He emphasized that nation-building goes beyond rhetoric, requiring deliberate actions that strengthen institutions, uphold the rule of law, and promote inclusive economic growth.

Leaders, he said, must demonstrate sincerity and courage in addressing social and economic challenges confronting the country.

Amamgbo expressed optimism that the New Year can mark a turning point for Nigeria if leaders and citizens alike commit to selfless service, patriotism, and the common good, noting that a better nation is achievable through collective effort and responsible leadership.
