The Anambra State Chairman of the Action People’s Party (APP), Hon. Chukwujiokem Okeke, has called for a comprehensive political re-engineering and a shift in strategy among public office holders and business leaders as Nigeria enters the year 2026.

In his New Year message, Hon. Okeke advocated a fundamental change in approach to leadership, governance, and enterprise, stressing that both political actors and business operators must recalibrate their strategies to deliver greater value to society. According to him, leadership in the New Year must be driven by service, innovation, and accountability, rather than personal gain.

The APP Chairman emphasized that effective governance and responsible business practices are critical to addressing pressing social challenges, particularly youth restiveness, crime, and criminality in Anambra State and beyond. He noted that when leadership is purposeful and inclusive, young people are productively engaged and social stability is strengthened.

Hon. Okeke further drummed strong support for utmost transparency and credibility within the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Nigeria’s judiciary, describing them as indispensable pillars of good governance and democracy. He maintained that public confidence in elections and the justice system is key to sustainable peace, political stability, and long-term development.

He concluded by expressing optimism that 2026 can mark a turning point for Anambra State and Nigeria at large if leaders across political, institutional, and economic sectors embrace reform, transparency, and people-centred decision-making for the collective good of society.
