The Chairman of the Anambra State Harmonisation Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uche Ekwunife, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to conducting rancour-free congresses anchored on democratic principles and strict adherence to agreed terms of reference.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ engagement held at the party secretariat on Tuesday, Ekwunife said the committee was determined to ensure that the forthcoming congresses are transparent, inclusive and in line with the party’s constitution, stressing that the APC aims to emerge stronger and more united after the exercise.
She commended Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu for his consistent support, as well as the Deputy National Organising Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru, and Princess Orizu for their contributions to the committee’s work. Ekwunife disclosed that the purchase of congress forms was sponsored by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma, expressing deep appreciation for his intervention and support for the party’s reconciliation process. She also praised Nze Chidi Duru for his selfless service to the harmonisation committee.
The committee chair urged party stakeholders to demonstrate commitment through selfless contributions, while emphasizing the need for accountability at all levels of party organisation.
In his remarks, the Anambra State APC Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike, described the period as a critical moment for the party, calling on members to work harder, remain vigilant and adopt new approaches to achieve positive change.
Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu thanked stakeholders for their presence and support, particularly appreciating Senator Ekwunife and members of the harmonisation committee for their efforts at party rebuilding. He declared his unwavering commitment to the APC, insisting that mediocrity must not be tolerated if the party is to move forward.
Also contributing, Margery Chuba Okadigbo urged the party leadership to take discipline seriously, warning against the continued tolerance of anti-party activities.
Other stakeholders at the meeting included the committee’s deputy chairman, Senator Anosike; J.C. Okeke; Chidi Orji; Deputy National Organising Secretary Hon. Nze Chidi Duru; Princess Esom Nwafor Orizu, Barrister Kennedy; Chief Azuka Okwuosa; Hon. Paul Obu, Hon Augustine Ike, among others.
