The prestigious Anambra Central People’s Forum, a dedicated socio-cultural organization committed to the preservation, promotion and revitalization of the Igbo language and rich cultural heritage in Anambra State, has applauded a great son of a legendary race of Igbo descent and Anambra State, First-rate Engineer and notable Philanthropist, Engr. Dr. Emeka Muoma Ezeh (OFR), for his remarkable exploits in Igbo language promotion and advocacy through the annual , “Engr. Dr. Emeka Muoma Ezeh Igbo Language Essay Competition for Secondary School Students in Anambra State”.
The Press Release was made available to Journalists in Awka, yesterday, to mark this Year’s International Mother Tongue Day Celebration.
Below is an excerpt of the Press Release:
“On this World Igbo Language Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to you, Engr. Dr. Emeka Muoma Ezeh (OFR), for your unwavering sponsorship of Igbo language causes. Your investment in our Mother Tongue is an investment in the very soul of our culture. Your commitment to promoting the Igbo language shows a deep love for our roots.
“We celebrate you today for your commitment to preserving our heritage. By supporting the promotion of the Igbo language, you are holding the torch of our ancestors. Ala Igbo is proud of your efforts to keep our culture alive”.
It concluded: “Engr. Dr. Emeka Muoma Ezeh, OFR (Omenyiliora, Ebube Idemili), has written his name in gold, and his uncommon contributions to our rich heritage will be remembered for generations to come.
Meanwhile, in the association’s Press Statement jointly signed by its Chairman and Secretary-General, it announced that this Year’s Engr. Dr. Emeka Muoma Ezeh Annual Igbo Language Essay Competition will commence on Friday, 10th April, 2026.
The Pan-Igbo Group, along with supporters, urged Igbo leaders to actively support the preservation campaign.
The State-wide Competition organized in Partnership with the Anambra State Ministry of Education and Ohanaeze Ndigbo World-wide, is aimed at reviving the use of Igbo language and culture within Anambra State, while aligning with the commitment of the UNESCO to addressing the urgent need to safeguard the International Mother Language of nations which is celebrated annually around the world on the 21st of every February.
