The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially scheduled its National Convention for March 27, 2026, as the party intensifies preparations to elect new national officers and reposition itself ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

As the largest political coalition in Nigeria, and arguably across Africa; the APC is entering a decisive phase in its internal consolidation, with party leaders emphasizing the need for a clear strategy and well-defined, achievable political targets.

The convention is expected to bring together delegates, stakeholders, and party faithful from across the federation in what insiders describe as a critical gathering to reinforce unity, strengthen internal democracy, and set the tone for future electoral contests.

Sources within the party indicate that beyond the election of national officers, the convention will serve as a platform to review the party’s current structure, assess its performance in governance, and align its objectives with the expectations of Nigerians.

Political analysts believe that the outcome of the convention will play a significant role in shaping the APC’s readiness for the next general elections, especially in areas of leadership cohesion, grassroots mobilization, and policy direction.

Chairman of the Digital and New Media Committee His Excellency Mohammed Umar Bago, Governor of Niger State also hinted at the adoption of innovative engagement strategies, including digital mobilization and expanded communication channels, to ensure inclusiveness and wider participation of members both within Nigeria and in the diaspora.

With preparations already in top gear, the APC leadership has expressed confidence that the convention will not only produce credible and capable leaders but also further solidify the party’s position as a dominant force in Nigeria’s political landscape.

As March 27 draws closer, attention remains firmly fixed on the APC, with many anticipating a convention that will define the party’s trajectory in the years ahead.
