Ekwunife Chairs APC Group B House of Representatives Screening Committee

…Designated to screen aspirants from selected states

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the official screening timetable for aspirants seeking to contest various positions ahead of the 2027 general elections, with screenings scheduled to commence in Abuja from May 8 to May 10, 2026.

Consequently, Uche Ekwunife has been appointed Chairman of the APC Group B 11-man Committee constituted to screen party aspirants ahead of the intraparty elections.

The screening for House of Representatives aspirants will hold at Treasures Suites Conference Hotel, Abuja, on May 9 and 10, beginning at 10:00 a.m. daily.

The Senator Uche Ekwunife-led Panel B will screen aspirants from Ogun, Niger, Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, and Kogi states on Saturday, while aspirants from Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, Zamfara, the FCT, Katsina, and Kwara states will be screened on Sunday.

Aspirants already screened include serving members, ranking members, and non-ranking members from various states, as well as the Chairman of the “Tinubu–Uba Sani Agenda ’27” Support Group, Mahmud Salisu Buba, from Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, Kaduna State, who is widely recognised for his connections with prominent political figures, unique physical appearance, and determination to contribute to the development of his constituency.

Other members of the panel include Dr. Maurice Oritsegbegbemi Ojo Ede, Aliyu Shehu Ahmed, Tunrayo Akintomide, Cassidy Maduake, Hon. Idi Waziri, Faithpukuma, Adaku Apugo, and Baraka Y. Dukawa, while Engr. Anjor Obande will serve as Secretary.

The development signals the APC’s intensified preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the party expected to conclude the screening process before the commencement of primary elections nationwide.
