The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has been honoured with the prestigious chieftaincy title “Osodieme” by the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, in recognition of her leadership, service and commitment to empowering women.
Reacting to the honour, the APC Anambra Central Senatorial Candidate, Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, who also serves as Zonal Director, South-East, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Directorate of Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring, described the recognition as a fitting tribute to the First Lady’s contributions to national development and the welfare of women.
Ekwunife congratulated Senator Oluremi Tinubu and commended her for the empowerment of more than 5,000 women during her visit to Imo State.
According to her, the initiative is a well-conceived economic intervention that will strengthen livelihoods, promote economic inclusion and create greater opportunities for women across the state.
She described the First Lady as “a mother, a leader and more,” noting that she has remained a vital pillar of support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in advancing the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In her remarks, the First Lady expressed appreciation to the Imo State traditional institution for the distinguished honour, pledging to remain committed to initiatives that promote economic development, empower women and improve the welfare of Nigerians.
Senator Tinubu also commended the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his leadership and contributions to the development of the state. She acknowledged his role in coordinating key political institutions across the country, noting the impact of his leadership.
The First Lady equally praised the First Lady of Imo State, Her Excellency, Chief Barr. (Dr.) Chioma Uzodimma, describing her as “an epitome of womanhood” and commending her for carrying herself with grace and distinction despite her relatively young age. She noted that Chioma Uzodimma’s conduct and accomplishments have positioned her as a worthy model among Nigeria’s First Ladies.
Governor Hope Uzodimma, who serves as Secretary of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, described Senator Oluremi Tinubu as an iconic personality whose influence extends beyond partisan, ethnic and religious boundaries.
The occasion therefore brought together traditional recognition and a broader message of women’s empowerment, economic inclusion and support for the Renewed Hope development agenda, highlighting the importance of collaborative leadership in advancing the welfare and prosperity of Nigerians.
