The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Senatorial Candidate for Enugu West, Evang. Juliet Ani, has reaffirmed her position as the party’s candidate, insisting that the recent court judgement did not invalidate her candidacy or direct the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to replace her name with that of OAU Onyema.
Ani, in a statement, maintained that neither the judgement nor its orders declared her unqualified to contest the Enugu West Senatorial seat on the platform of the ADC.
She also challenged Onyema, a lawyer, to properly study the judgement and understand its implications before making public interpretations of the court’s decision.
According to her, Onyema should exercise restraint and obtain the correct facts rather than misrepresenting the judgement.
“I still remain the candidate of ADC Enugu West,” Ani declared, reaffirming her commitment to the senatorial race.
She signed the statement as the ADC Senatorial Candidate for Enugu West.
