The DG South East Governors Forum Senator Uche Ekwunife CON (Iyom) has called on Christians to emulate Christ and observe His passion with hope in the spirit of Good Friday.
The Senator made this known in a message signed by her Special Assistant on Media and Strategic Communication Tony Ezike, which reads in part;
As we join Christians and Catholic churches all over the world to commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, let us deeply ponder over his trial, suffering and his execution by crucifixion.
Let us also endeavour to emulate the passion and humility of Christ in this trying time of our nationhood, hoping that the solemnity of Good Friday will fill our hearts with gratitude for the ultimate sacrifice made for us.
May the Cross of Calvary, which is the emblem of Christianity be a symbol of hope, forgiveness, salvation and prosperity.
As we observe the Holy Week, I am optimistic that the amazing light of God’s love will shine upon us this Good Friday and always.
