A pressure group under the platform of APGA Integrity Forum has described the critics of Senator Uche Ekwunife as those that were paid to undermine the political career and landmark achievements of the Distinguished Senator.
The group further contended that Political intinerancy is new to Nigerian politics but what should be put in sharp focus are the benefits of the electorates in her political journey.
According to a statement signed by the convener of the forum Chief Anselem Chinedu Nebeife, shortly after it’s meeting in Awka yesterday in as much as we are members of APGA, it doesn’t take away the fact that Sen Uche Ekwunife had been able to impact positively on the lives of Anambra electorates not minding the senatorial district they belong to.
Nebeife also agued that her current position as the Director General of South East Governors Forum is an indication that she is well recognized across party lines adding that her position has been able to galvanize unity of purpose among the five governors in the pursuit of sustainable socioeconomic development of the geopolitical zone.
“The story of her ascent and transversing of the corridors of power commenced triumphantly with her election as the representative for Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2007. Throughout her tenure, she earned a reputation for her tireless advocacy and dedication to her constituents’ welfare.
“In 2015, her political trajectory reached new heights when she clinched the senatorial seat for Anambra Central Senatorial District, solidifying her position as a formidable force.
“Beyond her impressive command of the dynamics of politics and power, her outstanding generosity has endeared her to the hearts of many.
“Her commitment to uplifting the less privileged through various philanthropic initiatives, including educational scholarships and healthcare programs, has positively impacted countless lives across Anambra State and beyond. Her genuine compassion and empathy resonates deeply with her constituents, fostering a sense of trust and admiration that transcends mere politics.
“Of course I am aware of her detractors who often accuse her of being an itinerant politician moving from party to party. But in levelling this accusation, her opponents miss the critical point. First, is her courage and integrity – the cardinal reasons she, unlike other politicians, does not bother to deny the accusation.
“Political itinerancy is a common trend in our clime. And this is so because ideologically, most of our political parties lack contrast.
“What however differentiates Sen. Ekwunife from the pack of other itinerant politicians is that her movements are dictated and defined by her religious quest for her constituents’ welfare at all times. And that’s the reason Iyom has become a household name, resonating deeply with the people.
“Her legislative record reflects a keen focus on critical issues such as education, healthcare, infrastructure development and youth empowerment, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to pushing the frontiers and driving the dials of positive change.
“Just the other day, even while out of the hallowed halls of the National Assembly, we saw her commissioning a road project she attracted at Agu-kwu Nri.
