Ohaneze, Ex- Govs protest neglect of Elder Statesman’s advise to the nation

As former governor of Anambra state Dr Chukwuemaka Ezife’s remains are received at the International Conference and Convention Center Awka Anambra state there have been lamentations over the neglect the Elder Statesman’s Advise for a better Nation .
Ezeife had been on the vanguard of good governance , equity justice and fairness within the polity but had regretted that those fatherly advises fell on deaf ears.
Recall that in his last interview granted to New Telegraph he lamented that he has done his best as an elder to guide the younger generation of Nigerians but they have refused to change and this is sad and now at my sick bed what else would you want me to say that I have not said before? ” he said.
Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Chief Damian Okeke Ogene described Ezeife as one Elder Statesman that had continued to fight for the interest of the Nigerian masses adding that his contributions would for ever be remembered in several years to come .
“His name is not new to Nigerians and the people of the South East because he stood for equity justice and fairness but it would have been better that he is going home fulfilled that those his observations were put to use “
Former Anambra governor and immediate past Minister for labour and Employment Sen Chris Ngige noted that Ezeife was a Nationalists that insisted in a home grown economy through his think home philosophy.
“All his life he has championed for a home grown economy of the Country especially the South East and this was made manifest while he was here in Anambra as governor “
“Even in those days our country faced challenges in the area of economy and governance he was handy to provide meaningful and workable solutions to those problems but it is left for history to judge if the Nation put those submissions to good use ” he said.
Director General South East Governor’s Forum and immediate past Senator for Anambra Central Iyom Uche Ekwunife stated that;
“His distinguished service as the first executive governor of Anambra state, a federal permanent secretary, and a political luminary marked a significant chapter in our nation’s history. Dr. Ezeife’s unwavering commitment to the betterment of his people and his pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s sociopolitical sphere makes his loss even more profound”
“Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, described as an icon, was a figure many Nigerians looked up to, leaving an indelible mark in the sands of time. He spent the greater part of his life working for good governance and humanity, becoming a source of pride not just for the Igbo community but for the entire nation”
“Furthermore, Ezeife’s dedication to the unity of our country did not go unnoticed, as he invested most of his time working towards fostering national cohesion”
“As we mourn this iconic leader, let us be mindful of his enduring legacies, exemplary leadership, and laudable role in democratic transitions of Anambra State and Nigeria at large. May God grant his soul peaceful repose and comfort the bereaved family.” she said.
Former member of the Federal House of Representatives Chief Chinedu Obidigwe noted that it is up to the current generation of Nigerians to appreciate his efforts by doing the right thing.
“Yes it is sad that despite all that the former governor gave his best for the socioeconomic and political growth of our country but the powers that be as it where could not see the bigger picture”
“As he goes home we find solace that he leaves a good life and played his own role in the upward mobility of our country in general and South East in particular” he said.
As part of the activities towards his funeral Late Ezeife would be received this Friday at the International Conference and Convention Center Awka by Gov Charles Soludo being led by the Chief Judge of the state.
Ezeife would however be taken to his country home Igbo Ukwu in Aguata local government area where the rest of the slatted programs would continue.
