The Eke Awgbu market paints a vivid pictorial of a people known for agriculture and trading and what greets a visitor to this sleepy town is the popular palm wine that tells the story of Awgbu people.

Apparently this community it is from these trades that the community produced men and women that have distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavor such as Chief Earnest Ezeajughi the Chief of Staff to Gov Charles Soludo of Anambra state.

Born in the year 1960 Earnest Ezeajughi was born into the family of Sir Simeon Okeke an educator and politician. He attended Aguata High School and Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka where he obtained a degree in Medical Microbiology and graduated in 1998.

Ezeajughi threw his wealth of experience into the Royal Public Health England and Medical Health care Regulatory Authority MHRA .

It was under the Labour Party platform that he tried his hands in politics and won the seat of Brent Council in 2014 and this was a position he occupied between 2014 and 2018, representing Stone bridge.

He got elected as Deputy Mayor of Brent and was later reelected for a second term in office and ultimately became the Mayor and indeed the first black Mayor in England.

While in England the exploits of Chief and ground breaking achievements kissed his homestead in Anambra state.

As Gov Charles Soludo made his way into the Government House of Anambra state, he had at the back of his mind the concept of bringing the experience of Ezeajughi to bare in the management of Anambra human and material resources.

That explains why he is today the Chief of Staff to Gov Charles Soludo till date and so far he is seen as the bridge builder in the Governance of the state.
