National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Barr Sylvester Ezeokenwa has announced that before the end of the year his party would be welcoming more defectors from the Labour Party across the country.
Ezeokenwa further observed that since after the general election the Labour Party has lost its steam following the lingering leadership crisis in the party.
Speaking at the return of top APGA Chieftains who had during the last election joined the Labour Party Ezeokenwa who was represented by his Special Assistant Mr Okey Iloanya stated;
“We are aware of the lost of steam within the Labour Party since after the last general election and the lingering leadership crisis in that party and this has gone to prove that the party is fast loosing it’s steam and many of their members are leaving the party in droves”
“Before the end of this year we are going to receive thousands of Labor party members into APGA and talks have been fat reaching in that regard ” he said.
Also speaking shortly after rejoining his former party APGA Sir Osita Ezereagba who contested for the State House of Assembly under Labor party noted that since the inception of Gov Charles Soludo administration, APGA had been unified adding that with the focused leadership of Barr Sylvester Ezeokenwa the party has come to restore internal democracy within it’s fold .
“I have been a pioneer member of APGA and had played vital roles towards the growth of the party but I see my leaving APGA as going on a sabbatical leave but I am back now for good”
“But at some point the leadership of the party had questions to answer about fairness and internal democracy in view of what happened during the primary elections so I had to seek for my ticket elsewhere “
“But funny as it may seem the Labour Party which we felt would have done better is neck deep in leadership tussle and APGA under Sylvester Ezeokenwa has restored the confidence of members in the electoral process ” he said.
