Northern Community in Anambra state has expressed appreciation to Gov Charles Soludo over the recovery of about 78 Hectres of land given to them for the building of Cattle Market.
The land which was allocated to them during the regime of the then military governor Col Mike Attah Rtd has being a victim of land grabbers ever since and the Cattle dealers had to make do with their old market that has become to small for their business.
The Northern Community also lauded the governor for the reconstitution of the Muslim Pilgrims Board describing him as the most detribalized governor in the South East geopolitical zone.
According to the Sariki Fulani in Anambra state and the National Deputy Director of Mietti Allah Cattle Dealers Association Alhaji Gidado Siddiki ;
“The land in question was given to us during the military era and there were problems over taking full occupation of the land due to those that were doing business at Ugwuoba Enugu state and as you people can see land grabbers have been encroaching on the land”
“But with this development we are happy because our cows can now have a permanent and secured place to stay and you can see that the present market have become too small for us due to population explosion”
“We have all the allocation papers and Certificate Of Occupancy with us and due this recovery our brothers that do business at Ugwuoba are beginning to return back to Anambra state because we now have enough space to operate”
Before now construction work had commenced on the site with the building of abattoir while the rest of the site would house a Mosque, settlement area , cemetery, shops , food stuff market and trailer garage.
Continuing Saddiki also commended Soludo for the construction of a Cattle Market in Awka and tomatoes Market at Onitsha.
“We now have a good market site for cows established in Awka and tomatoes Market in Onitsha through the assistance of Gov Charles Soludo”
“We are also happy that the governor has set up the Muslim Pilgrims Board which is very fundamental to us and we shall continue to support the state government because it has been able to fight insecurity in Anambra state” he said.
