Anambra Central People’s Forum, a Pan- Igbo socio-cultural organization has visited select-schools in DNA Federal Constituency where it presented educational materials for the pupils and cash support for the staff of the schools.
The gesture is complementary to the DNA Federal Lawmaker’s various educational interventions ranging from the facilitation of intensive training of sixty(60) DNA youths on Information Technology (ICT) for entrepreneurial development, Payment of Year 2024 West African Examination Council (WAEC) Fees of Three Hundred and Six indigent students, and Payment of PROJECT GRANT to One Hundred and Two Final Year undergraduates, all of which are intended to improve the quality of education accessible to the people of his Constituency.
At the presentation of the items to the schools, the Forum’s Chairman, Achebe Chris, Esq., said that the gesture is to compliment the government’s effort towards the provision of basic educational materials to schools in the State, noting that it would also make education affordable.
“We cannot leave the academic success of the students to only what government does. We are committed to facilitating initiatives critical to the improvement of the standard of education, and this is evident in the various interventions we have made in the education sector, as part of social responsibility of our association. We shall remain unrelenting in our efforts to extend the intervention to every part of the Constituency. The areas that are yet to be touched will be the principal considerations in the approaching interventions”.
Receiving the items on behalf of the students, the Principal, All Saints’ Secondary School, Abagana, Evang. (Mrs.) Ndirika Ngozika, thanked the benefactor and DNA Federal Lawmaker, Rt. Hon. George Ibezimako Ozodinobi for the gesture, adding that the magnanimous donation was a step in the right direction geared towards investing in the future of the younger generation within the Federal Constituency.
In a remark, she called on other public officials, public-spirited individuals, and civil society groups to emulate the Federal Lawmaker and Anambra Central People’s Forum towards improving the education welfare of the people.
In her address, Ngozika lauded the Lawmaker for always reporting back to his people and for giving DNA Federal Constituency what she described as effective representation.
“We are grateful for this gesture which again lends credence to your resolve to make quality education accessible to the people at the grassroots. I applaud you for the consistency you have displayed in delivering effective representation to the people. I enjoin the students to emulate the goodwill of Rt. Hon. George Ibezimako Ozodinobi, who himself is a product of the public school, in always contributing to the development of public education when they grow into adults”.
In their respective remarks, the Principals of the benefitting schools appreciated the Lawmaker for his unceasing interventions to enhance educational development, promising that the items will be effectively used to facilitate the delivery of quality learning outcomes.
The gesture is seen as a relief to parents and guardians, most of who struggle to pay fees of their children and wards, as a result of the growing hardship in the Country.
The pupils were full of excitement and expressed gratitude to the Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization and their DNA Federal Representative for investing in their educational future.
The benefitting schools are All Saints’ Secondary School, Abagana; Community Secondary School, Nimo; Bubendorff Memorial Grammar School, Adazi-Nnukwu, amongst others.
