EEDC Set to Launch Massive Disconnection Drive for Indebted Customers

By Our Reporter

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has announced a large-scale disconnection exercise targeting customers with unpaid bills. This move, according to a public statement from the company, is aimed at ensuring prompt payment of electricity dues by its customers across the region.

EEDC has urged all indebted customers to settle their bills immediately to avoid disconnection. The company stressed that reconnection fees will be applied in addition to any outstanding payments once a customer is disconnected. Customers are advised to visit EEDC Cash Offices or authorized collection agents to clear their bills without waiting for field marketers to visit their premises.

The company highlighted that the current electricity bill, representing energy consumed in the previous month, is due by the 12th of the following month. Customers in arrears are encouraged to take advantage of the ongoing discount scheme to settle their debts.

“Pay your bills promptly to avoid the inconvenience of disconnection or surcharges,” the company warned, adding that timely payment is essential for EEDC to continue providing uninterrupted service to its customers.

EEDC reiterates commitment to delivering quality service and urges its customers to support their efforts by staying up to date with their electricity payments.
