Anambra APP Chairman Lauds Party’s Successes in Jigawa and Rivers, Foresees Expansive Growth in Nigerian Politics

The Anambra State Chairman of the Action Peoples Party (APP), Hon. Chukwujiokem Okeke, also known as Enyioha, has hailed the recent success of the APP in Jigawa State, where Usman Alhaji Ali, a candidate from Buntusu Ward in Gwiwa Local Government Area, won a councillorship seat in the October 6, 2024, local government elections. This achievement follows APP’s historic victory last month in Rivers State, where the party swept the elections, winning 22 of 23 chairmanship seats and 314 out of 317 councillorship positions.

Hon. Okeke extended his congratulations to Barr. Uchenna Nnadi, the National Chairman of APP, and applauded party stakeholders and members across Nigeria for their unwavering commitment and resilience in advancing the party’s mission. He highlighted that these victories represent a clear indication of APP’s growing influence and potential to become a significant political force nationwide.

“This accomplishment in Jigawa is an outstanding follow-up to our recent Rivers State win,” Okeke noted. “It reflects the unity, dedication, and grassroots strength within APP that are enabling us to expand the party’s capacity and influence across Nigerian states.”

Okeke also praised Usman Alhaji Ali’s efforts, acknowledging his role in showcasing APP’s ideals of responsible leadership and community commitment at the local level. “We are proud of Hon. Ali’s success and the dedication of all APP members who worked tirelessly to support his campaign. Their efforts symbolize the new era of grassroots democracy that APP stands for,” he added.

He further commended the Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission (JIGSIEC), for the positive changes seen in election management, attributing recent successes in transparent elections to the agency’s commitment to transparency. Okeke expressed optimism for the future of elections in Nigeria, emphasizing that APP remains committed to ensuring fairness and transparency in every political contest.

With growing momentum and impressive victories across diverse regions, APP is positioning itself as a dynamic alternative to Nigeria’s established political parties. The party’s success across both the North and South highlights its potential to attract a broad spectrum of voters who are eager for accountability, innovation, and true representation in governance.

Hon. Okeke is confident that APP’s grassroots strength, combined with strategic national leadership, will continue to bolster its standing as a transformative force in Nigerian politics.
