Anambra State APP Chairman Hon. Chukwujiokem Okeke (Enyioha Mbaukwu) has described the recent decision by the Court of Appeal in Abuja overturning the restrictions on the Rivers State Government’s access to its statutory funds as a victory for justice and the rule of law. According to him, the decision is a testament to the timeless truth that the just shall always be vindicated at the end of tribulations.
“This landmark judgment reaffirms the constitutional guarantees of states to their revenue and underscores the need for fairness in governance. The actions of the Federal High Court, as deemed unconstitutional by the appellate court, were an overreach that sought to undermine the financial stability of Rivers State.
“I commend the Rivers State Government for standing firm in the face of adversity and for pursuing justice through lawful means. This ruling restores hope in the judiciary as the custodian of justice and equity in our democracy.
“As leaders, we must remain resolute in upholding the principles of accountability, fairness, and constitutional order, knowing that truth will always prevail. Let this serve as a reminder that no challenge is insurmountable when we act with integrity and faith in the system.
“The vindication of Rivers State is a win not just for the people of the state but for all Nigerians who believe in justice and due process”, Enyioha Mbaukwu stated.
