Okey Maduforo retracts statement, apologizes for mistake in Ihiala PG identification

By Our Reporter

Below is a Retraction and Apology from Okey Maduforo regarding an error in identifying the President-General of Ihiala Community in a report about the community, published on City Post (citypost.com.ng) on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

The statement reads;
I, Okey Maduforo, wish to tender my unreserved apology and formally retract an error made in a recent report concerning the mourning of the victims of the tragic incident that claimed the lives of nine persons in Ihiala town, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.

In the report, I mistakenly referred to Bar. Emmanuel Mkpo as the President-General of Ihiala Community. This information was incorrect and entirely a result of my oversight as the reporter. I deeply regret the confusion and any distress this error may have caused.

It is important to emphasize that this mistake was entirely mine and not the fault of City Post, the platform on which the report was published. I urge the public and all parties negatively affected by this error to direct their grievances solely to me and not the publication.

Once again, I offer my sincerest apologies to Bar. Emmanuel Mkpo, the leadership of Ihiala Community, and anyone else impacted by this mistake. I am committed to ensuring that such errors are avoided in the future.

Thank you for your understanding.
