Ekwunife Salutes the South East Governors For Seamless Transition

In a statement released on Friday, the Director General of the Southeast Governors Forum (SEGOF), Senator Uche Ekwunife, commended the Governors of the South-East for their decisive efforts in facilitating a seamless transition for the new executives of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

Senator Ekwunife highlighted the governors’ pivotal roles in promoting unity and advancing the rich cultural heritage of NDIGBO. She noted that their visionary leadership and collaborative spirit have established a strong foundation for sustainable progress within the Igbo nation.

Senator Ekwunife lauded the Governors for their achievements, particularly in championing developmental projects, enhancing regional security, and advocating for the socio-political inclusion of Ndigbo at the national level. She expressed confidence that their continued partnership with the newly elected Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership under Senator John Azuta-Mbata will further strengthen the position of Ndigbo in Nigeria’s political and economic landscape.

Ekwunife emphasized that such synergy between state governments and Ohanaeze Leadership is crucial for tackling pressing challenges such as regional security, economic development, youth empowerment, industrial growth, infrastructure development, and the preservation of Igbo heritage. She encouraged the governors to deepen their collaboration with the new leadership to achieve shared objectives that will uplift Ndigbo globally.

Senator Ekwunife also expressed profound gratitude to the past Ohanaeze leadership, led by Nze Ozichukwu Fidelis Chukwu, KSM, for their exemplary service. She described Nze Ozichukwu as a visionary leader whose tenure was marked by an unparalleled commitment to Igbo unity, cultural preservation, and global advocacy for Igbo interests. “Nze Ozichukwu Fidelis Chukwu established a high standard of leadership and impact within his short stay at the helm of the leadership of OHANAEZE she said”

In expressing her congratulations and best wishes to the newly elected president-general, Senator John Azuta-Mbata, and his team, Senator Ekwunife praised Senator Azuta-Mbata’s impressive track record in public service and governance. She described him as a capable and dedicated leader, well-suited to elevate Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide to greater heights. She urged him to uphold the ambitious goals and remarkable legacies of his predecessors by fostering unity, addressing socio-economic challenges, and promoting Igbo interests on both national and international platforms.

Senator Ekwunife advised the new leadership to prioritize economic empowerment, youth development, regional security, and the equitable representation of Igbo interests across all levels of governance. She advocated for strategic collaborations with traditional rulers, political leaders, and Ndi Igbo in the diaspora to consolidate efforts towards building a prosperous Igbo nation.
